About
J.A. Hoskins is the author of John and Writer-in-Residence.
Born in Montreal, she is now happily anchored on Queensland's Sunshine Coast - Canadian and Australian in equal measure, shaped by two hemispheres and the stories that live between them.
Before writing her own fiction, she spent years writing in other voices — across engineering, technical writing, and ghostwritten works. Those experiences now inform her novels, which explore resilience, reinvention, and the deeply human ways we find our way back to ourselves.
When she isn't writing, she can be found travelling, hiking, renovating old buildings back to their former beauty, cooking for friends, or treating chocolate as the legitimate food group it truly is.
She is currently writing two new novels: Ailsa Craig, a historical saga based on a true family story that won't leave her alone until it's written, and The Loreto Ladies' Luncheon, a mystery about secrets, diamonds, and what one woman discovers over two very memorable lunches in Mexico.
